2. Lesson background
-
Previous lesson: In Lesson 4C – Students learn useful words to talk about motivation, recognize fillers (e.g. so and like) in a podcast, practice will and won’t for promises, offers and spontaneous decisions.

Current lesson: In Lesson 4D – The lesson integrates reading and speaking. It aims to introduce students to ways of giving feedback in a positive way. The lesson ends with students giving feedback in different scenarios.
3. Aims and Objectives
AIMS: The lesson aims to provide the students with:

(1) ways to give feedback and advice in a positive way

(2) role-playing practice to apply the acquired knowledge in speaking
-
(3) problem-solving skills in students by engaging them in real-world problems
-
(4) emotional intelligence and social skills through real-world scenarios, group activities, and peer collaboration.
OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:

identify ways to give encouraging feedback and advice

implement different ways of giving feedback and advice in speaking

construct a role-play to demonstrate effective communication by giving feedback and advice
